Important 1936 Olympic Photographic Album including iconic images of Jesse Owens & Luz Long, Archie Williams, Mack Robinson (BB legend Jackie Robinson's brother), C. C. Johnson, the University of Washington Crew Team (the NYT best selling book - The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Olympics, 13 year old Marjorie Gestring (at the time, the youngest person to ever win an Olympic gold metal) and many more. Each photograph in this album is numbered and comes with a printed card identifying the events and individual(s). The album begins with a panoramic view of the Olympic stadium, 12 - photographs of the opening ceremony, and 204 photographs of the athletes and major events. A few photographs are loose and photograph #152 does not have the number printed in the photo frame. Album measures H 11-5/16, L 15-1/4", D of binding 1-1/2" Photograph # 53 of Jesse Owens and Luz Long measures H 2-3/4" x L 3-1/2". They will contact you after payment for lots is made to arrange your shipping. Shipping is arranged only after items are paid for and payment clears. If payment is made by check, items will be held 7 days before shipment. You will pay them directly for shipping. 2) If you would like to secure an alternate quote, please contact The UPS Store # 5105 at (203) 772-4445 or (store5105@theupsstore.com) Attn: Manjit. You must notify us by email to release your items to UPS, and pay them directly. 3) If you choose to use the shipping company provided through Bidsquare, you will be billed directly through Bidsquare via PAYPAL. YOU MUST SEND AN EMAIL AUTHORIZING RELEASE TO THEIR SHIPPER to info@newhavenauctions.com so that we can hold your items for pick up by their carrier. PICK UP: Items can be picked up in person at our facility BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please contact the gallery 24 hours in advance to arrange for pick up. Pick up can be scheduled for Monday through Friday 9am - 3pm. beginning Wednesday, June 30th. We will be closed on Monday, July 5th. STORAGE FEES WILL BE ASSESSED:Purchased items that have not been picked up from our auction facility within 14 days of the auction will be stored at a rate of $5 per day per lot. CT sales tax of 6.35% will be charged for in person pick up unless buyer holds a valid resale certificate and has submitted a signed CT Sales and Use Tax Form prior to pick up. Sales to out of state buyers that are picked up by the buyer's representative will be charged Connecticut sales tax unless the representative is a licensed commercial shipper and provides a Bill of Lading at pick up. We recommend that potential buyers contact Village Express to receive a shipping estimate prior to bidding. The possible high cost of shipping does not absolve a buyer from following through with a purchase. If in house shipping is available, it will be noted one each individual lot.
